LEWINA THERM

Warmth that arrives.
Literally.

Celsius infrared heat reaches walls, floors and furniture — not just the room air. Personally planned by LEWINA THERM.

This warming of building components and thermal mass works through reflected infrared heat that reaches 12 m deep into the room, and it can be regulated smartly via pulse control — digitally or via WIFI, controllable with or without an app.

Not all infrared heating is created equal

Not every infrared heater is a Celsius. The patented crystal-glass technology differs fundamentally from ordinary heating foils and infrared resistance heaters:

  • Up to 12 m of infrared range instead of the short range of conventional resistance heaters — walls, floors and furniture themselves become heat stores, not just the room air.
  • 43 patents, over 30 years of market experience with crystal-glass frequency technology — no ordinary heating wire and no heating foil.
  • All-in-one “dehumidifying and heating unit” dries masonry instead of merely heating — noticeably reduces moisture in walls and timber and at the same time brings the indoor air humidity into the ideal range of 40–60%, especially valuable in older buildings and renovations.
  • Consumption automatically adjustable from 550 W down to 50 W thanks to pulse-control technology — with up to 6,000 adjustments per minute, instead of a simple on/off thermostat where “on” always means full power, regardless of the actual air temperature.

Further down you can find out which Celsius model suits your room and how the technology works in detail.

What we offer

Infrared heating for every situation

Wall-mounted heating panels

Permanently mounted Celsius panels with digital or WIFI app control — for new builds and renovations. Also available as a modern flush-mounted installation with 5 cm of air clearance all round.

Mobile heating panels

A flexible free-standing unit with no fixed installation — ideal for rented flats, offices or interim solutions.

Infrared furniture

Heat-emitting designer furniture such as our Cube, which can be placed freely in the room — heating technology that integrates invisibly or as a design centrepiece.

Sauna

Celsius sauna panels with long-wave infrared-C heat, specially for the wellness area — suitable for rooms of up to 4 m³ per panel, for higher temperatures up to 38 °C, only with good insulation.

Kräutercube

Infrared-A drying cabinet “Ripening and Drying” in spruce or Swiss stone pine (Zirbe) — for herbs, fruit, vegetables, berries, mushrooms, citrus fruit, chillies, your own spice production and even cured ham (Speck): gently from the inside out at 20–30 °C instead of dehydrating. For private and commercial use, also in use at agricultural schools.

Remediation drying

After water damage or flooding, Celsius dries damp walls, floors and ceilings lastingly and neutralises mould, mustiness and odours from oil, mud or sewage water.

Agricultural applications

Individually planned drying and heating systems for farms: hay drying, post-ripening of fruit and cured ham, and on-farm propagation of EM (effective microorganisms).

Where Celsius infrared heating is suitable

New builds & modern timber construction

Planned in from the start, Celsius blends unobtrusively into modern timber constructions and supports an even indoor climate and comfortable warmth.

Older buildings & careful renovation

Can be retrofitted with just two hooks and is ready to plug in, with controls directly on the unit and no major interventions: no opened-up walls, no newly laid cables, no big building site.

As main heating

With professional sizing, Celsius can heat an entire home — what matters are the building, the insulation and suitable planning.

Supplementary heating for individual rooms

Heat precisely where it is needed — a flexible addition to an existing heating system.

Cool or damp wall surfaces

Celsius warms cool wall surfaces directly. If dampness persists, the structural cause should always be clarified first — we take care of that for you as part of the consultation.

Combination with photovoltaics & storage

The automatic control combines well with your own PV generation — for a more conscious use of self-generated electricity.

Holiday homes, offices & occasionally used rooms

Ready for use immediately with no lead time — ideal for rooms that are not heated continuously.

Hotels & guest rooms

With its own hotel function: the operating options can be restricted for guests, and several rooms or properties can be managed centrally via an app with Celsius WIFI.

Planning

Individual planning instead of flat-rate calculations

Serious heating design does not simply calculate watts per square metre. What matters are room volume, insulation standard, window areas, external walls and building fabric, as well as usage and the desired room temperature. Only from these factors can it be determined how many panels make sense and in which position. We take the time for this — so that the plan fits your building and not the other way round.

Sales partner

Celsius infrared heating

LEWINA THERM is a sales partner of IWH GmbH (Infrarothimmel), the general distributor for Celsius. Celsius is a patented crystal-glass and frequency technology that differs fundamentally from conventional heating wire or heating foil. Conventional heating systems first warm the room air, which quickly rises again. Celsius works differently: long-wave infrared-C heat warms walls, floors and furniture through reflection and back-reflection. An integrated sensor (directly on the unit for Celsius Digital, via an additional hygrometer for WIFI) continuously records the actual demand and regulates power consumption automatically — and every room can be controlled individually.

Guide

Celsius & infrared heating explained simply

Answers to the most important questions about Celsius and infrared heating — explained clearly, without the jargon.

How does an infrared heater work?

Unlike convection heating, Celsius uses its long range of 12 m and infrared-C heat to warm all surfaces such as walls, floors, ceiling and furniture — instead of heating the air directly. This results in low convection and an optimal air humidity of 40–60%. Many people find this more pleasant, similar to natural warmth from the sun.

Can Celsius be used as the main heating?

Yes, with professional sizing. What matters here are the building, the insulation and the number and position of the panels — a blanket statement without individual planning would not be credible.

How is electricity consumption calculated?

The rated output (e.g. 550 watts) is not the continuous consumption: the automatic 8-step control continuously adapts the actual power consumption to the heat demand. Once the room is heated up and dry, consumption is often only 100–200 watts — a 20 m² room, for example, can be heated with a single panel.

What are the purchase and running costs?

Because no pipework is needed, purchase costs are often lower than for water-based heating systems. Running costs depend heavily on the building, the insulation and usage. A central heating system with all its ancillary costs usually costs more, requires ongoing maintenance and has to be completely replaced after 15–20 years at the latest.

Which panel size suits my room?

That depends on room volume, insulation, window areas and the desired temperature — we determine the right size in a personal consultation.

Celsius in older buildings and renovations

Celsius is easy to retrofit without opening up walls or laying cables — even in listed buildings. Mounted ready to plug in with just two hooks and with controls directly on the unit — this makes retrofitting particularly easy.

Infrared heating and photovoltaics

Celsius’s automatic control combines well with your own PV generation — for a more conscious use of self-generated electricity. For this, the coordination with us should be planned in from the start.

What should be considered with damp walls?

Cool wall surfaces are often caused by damp building components. Celsius warms these directly: the dehumidification reaches up to 20 cm into the masonry, but takes time and energy until it is fully completed. This can be compared to a renovation — only directly within the building fabric, which permanently preserves the value of your building. If dampness persists, however, the structural cause should always be clarified first.

Installation, control and app

Installation is on the wall, with control — depending on the model — digitally or via app, for convenient room-by-room operation. Ready to plug in with a 120 cm cable and fastened with just two hooks — thanks to the low power consumption of the control technology, no additional wiring or fusing is required.
